For those reading this, I'm an artist that goes by the handle Sov the Artist. Some of you may remember me from the artwork I posted on Twitter and Instagram a while back, but I'm pretty sure many of you don't remember me or have never heard of me. It's cool, just consider my jump to Newgrounds as a fresh start for everybody.

I've been gone a pretty long time (since March of 2023) and I'm now getting back to posting publically again. To address those who've followed my pages and wondered why I suddenly disappeared, I'll just get straight to the point: I got burnt out from posting on multiple accounts (including a Patreon), had real world responsibilities that needed to take priority, was disgusted by AI-Art's rising adoption and support on platforms I posted on (which made me not want to use them anymore), got tired of the shitty Twitter/Instagram algorithms, and I wanted to avoid having my work being used to train AI by making them private. Had other reasons too, but we're not getting into those.

I've taken brief pauses from my art accounts when I felt I needed to take a break before but, after posting my Orochi Shermie picture last year, I just felt like I had enough. I simply didn't want to post on my art pages anymore. I'd lost interest in doing so. I didn't care about visibility, likes, retweets, follow counts, or any of that anymore. I was just done. I deleted my public art pages and just checked out.

I closed down my Patreon page shortly after as well and transferred the contents of it to a private Discord. Members of my Patron page were the only ones I allowed access to that Discord. The reason I did this was because I wanted to repay them for supporting my Patreon page and so that they wouldn't lose out on the content they paid for. After that, I was finished... At least, that's what I thought.

A few days after shutting down my art pages, I found myself feeling like my actions were a bit too hasty and decided to quietly restore my Twitter and Instagram pages after deleting them. I didn't want to update them anymore, but I didn't want the followers on them to lose out on content too, so I came to the compromise of just keeping the pages as they were but making them private. On my Discord, I gradually kept posting new artwork whenever I had the time/whim to do so, but rarely at the frequency I once did. This was the case for a long while.

After enough time passed, I've started finding my interest to post artwork return the more I kept drawing at my own leisure and, after seeing so many other artists pressing on despite their personal struggles, I felt like it was time for me to follow their example and move forward too. Just in my own way.

So, here's how things are going to be:

+ I will now be posting artwork on Newgrounds.

+ Instagram will remain private and will not be updated until further notice.

+ Twitter will be reopened, but will now be used for retweeting/liking posts and commenting as well. I'll post art there, but Newgrounds is the primary Art page now.

Anyhow, that's all I had to say. The links to all my pages will be on my profiles and link tree. Time to get back to business and whatever happens, good or bad, I'll just roll with it. Sorry for being gone so long.
